Ariyannoor temple, Kandanisserry

This temple has a carved entrance gable which has been compared to the wooden sculptures of American artist Louise Nevelson. The Siva temple at Thiruvanchikulam as well as the Sri Krishna temple at Thirukulashekharapuram are believed to be monuments from the 9th century.

    
Triprayar

This famous temple of Sri Rama located on the banks of the Triprayar river is 25 km.away.Its architecture is similar to that of the 'Vadakkumnatha Kshethram'

  
Vazhachal

Just a short drive from Athirapplly,this picturesque waterfall is close to dense green forests and is a part of the Chalakudy river. Athirapally and Vazhachal are the most famous waterfalls of Kerala and favorite destinations of tourists.

   
Town Hall

This is an imposing building with a Picture Gallery where mural paintings from all parts of Kerala are exhibited.This is an imposing building with an art gallery or Chitralayam. 

 
Archaeological Museum

Also known as the Kollengodu House,this majestic hall houses a picture gallery with mural paintings from all over Kerala. This museum is situated on the Town Hall road.The entry time is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays and other National holidays

Zoo

Trichur has a zoo, 2km from the town center. A variety of fauna like the lion tailed macaque, sloth bear,elephant, species of birds and deer. The snake part has a reptilian collection of King Cobras, Kraits, Vipers and Rat Snakes.

 
Art Museum

Art Museum is in the Zoo compound. There are good collections of wood carvings, metal sculptures and ancient jewelry. The Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all working days except Mondays.

Shakthan Thampuran Palace

Also known as Palace Thoppu,the campus covers an area of 6 acres. Here you can see 3 Shavakudeerams (tombs) including that of the renowned Shakthan Thampuran.
